How we verify coupons and deals
Every coupon site says its codes work. This page says what we actually do about it - where offers come from, what happens before one appears on a store page, when it disappears, and what to do when one fails anyway.
Where our offers come from
Offers reach PriceDecode two ways, and both end at the same place - a person deciding whether it goes live.
- Affiliate network feeds. Most merchants run their programme on a network. We read those feeds directly, so a code and its expiry date arrive as the merchant published them rather than as someone retyped them.
- Our own team. Store-specific offers, bank deals and sale-event codes that never appear in a feed are entered by hand from the merchant's own announcement.
We do not scrape other coupon sites. A code copied from a competitor arrives with no expiry, no terms and no way to tell whether it ever worked.
What happens before an offer goes live
Nothing publishes itself. Every offer carries a status, and until someone sets it active it is invisible to shoppers. Before that happens we check:
| Check | What it means |
|---|---|
| The code exists | The coupon is recorded exactly as the merchant issued it, including case. |
| The offer has an end date | Where the merchant states one, the expiry is stored with the offer so it can drop out on its own. |
| The terms are attached | Minimum spend, category limits, new-customer-only rules and payment-method conditions are recorded with the offer rather than left for you to discover at checkout. |
| It points where it claims to | The destination link resolves to the merchant, on the page the offer describes. |
| It belongs to the right store | Offers are attached to a single store and its categories, so a code never appears under a brand it has nothing to do with. |
How expired offers leave the site
An offer with an expiry date stops being listed once that date passes - it is not a manual sweep that might get skipped on a busy week. Offers without a stated end date are reviewed by the team, and removed when the merchant retires them. If a coupon you saw earlier has vanished, that is what happened to it.
Store pages carry the date they were last updated, so you can see for yourself how fresh what you are reading is.
What we do not do
- We do not invent ratings. There are no star ratings or review counts on our store pages, because we do not collect them. A number no one submitted is not a rating.
- We do not quote cashback rates we cannot honour. The rate on a store page is the rate on file for that store at that moment. Merchants change rates, sometimes with little notice, so check the store page rather than an old screenshot - and the rate that applies is the one live when you click.
- We do not pad pages with codes that do not exist. A store with three live offers shows three.
When a coupon does not work
Merchants pull codes early, cap them by usage, or restrict them to a customer segment mid-campaign. When that happens we want to hear about it - a reported code is checked and removed or corrected, and our support team replies within 24 hours.
Email support@pricedecode.in or use the contact form. Tell us the store and the code; that is enough.
A coupon that fails is a different problem from an order that does not track. For missing cashback, see cashback terms and timelines.
