Editorial and AI disclosure policy

How the words on this site get written, where software helps and where it is not allowed near, how we fix what we get wrong, and who pays for it. Written plainly, because a policy you need a lawyer for is not a disclosure.

How we make money

When you click through to a merchant from PriceDecode and buy something, the merchant pays us a commission. That is the whole business model. Cashback is us handing you back a share of that commission.

Every outbound link to a merchant is a tracked affiliate link, and every one of them is marked as sponsored in the page's own markup - that is a machine-readable declaration to search engines, not a footnote. Nothing on this site is a paid placement dressed as a recommendation.

What that means for you: our incentive is for you to click. Our defence against that incentive is the rest of this page.

Where AI is used

Store descriptions and some store FAQs are drafted with AI and reviewed by our team before publication. Anyone on the team can edit or replace that copy, and edits override the draft permanently.

We disclose it because you cannot judge what you cannot see, and because prose is the only part of this site where it happens.

Where AI is not used

These come from data or from a person. None of them are generated:

Content on PriceDecode that is never AI-generated, and where it comes from instead.
What Where it comes from
Cashback and reward ratesThe commission terms on file for that store.
Coupon codes and offer termsThe merchant, through a network feed or their own announcement. See how we verify.
Expiry datesThe merchant's stated end date.
Your balances and claim outcomesTracked orders and the merchant's decision on them.
Star ratings and review countsNowhere. We do not publish them at all rather than publish invented ones.

Corrections

We publish figures that move - rates, expiry dates, minimums - so some of them will be wrong at some point. When you tell us, we check it against the merchant's own terms and correct the page. Our support team replies within 24 hours.

Email support@pricedecode.in or use the contact form.

One thing we cannot correct is a merchant's decision on a specific order. If a merchant rejects a cashback claim, we pass that decision on unchanged - we do not overturn it on your behalf, and we will not pretend otherwise. The cashback terms set out what happens and when.

What we will not publish

  • A cashback rate we are not actually able to pay.
  • A coupon we have no source for.
  • Ratings, review counts or savings totals that no one submitted or measured.
  • A store page written to look thorough while saying nothing specific about the store.
